As part of our understanding of networking we are attending other networking groups and reviewing them so that we can point you in the right direction when you are looking for a particular type of networking group.

Athena was founded to provide businesswomen with opportunities to meet women from a wide range of industry sectors from large corporates to sole traders. Athena aims to provide, within each group, every contact necessary to start, develop and grow your business and the training and support to maximise your potential on an on-going basis. At each meeting there are two business speakers, covering a wide range of personal and business development topics. Athena also provides free networking training so that every member is properly equipped to get the best out of their networking.

| And if you’re asking me….
Supportive, friendly networking at its best. A relaxed environment where you will have a good time, not feel weighed down by expectation and enjoy some girlie banter. Regular, well-chosen speakers are informative, fun and impart valuable business/networking knowledge to the group. This particular group was buzzing with an array of different (and very glamorous I must say) business women. There was a strong sense of camaraderie amongst the members and you could feel an excitable buzz as members caught up, before and after the meeting. Whilst there were various joint ventures and business opportunities highlighted there is no requirement to contribute to fellow members and therefore no sense of pressure or business being given for the sake of it. A great place to start networking as the support would be perfect for those nervous and a little less confident. Being monthly it works for women with time constraints and lunchtimes work well for Mum’s with school runs to consider. Also ideal for those with a clear business offering that fellow members easily recognise and can understand without needing the regularity of weekly meetings. A great experience and I hope to be invited again.
